Hi all, picked up my UK 2005 e90 330i 6spd manual last weekend. Great car so far, but a few niggley bits:
- The shifter is pretty poor in my opinion. The throw is ridiculous and it feels very cheap and plasticy in my hand. I have come from a DC2 Integra and the shift feel is far better than the 330i. I have been researching SSKs and it looks like I might import a UUC kit from the states and then change the knob for a weighted one. Any advice on that?
- There is a clunk in the drivetrain when changing from 1st and 2nd. I have read this is probably down to the valve in the clutch line which puts a lag on clutch disengagement. I intend to delete this as I feel like the car is treating me like an idiot.
- The engine seems to struggle and the car "bucks" in 2nd at low speeds and I often have to change down to 1st. Is this normal and due to the gearing or something else?
- I am going to clean the air flow sensor and then reset the ECU to try and smooth out power delivery and ensure the car is running properly. Its recently has new plugs fitted. Is there anything else I should service at the same time?
Thanks,
Chris
