does "my bmw remote" app work w/ iOS 7?

i thought i remember the app working on my iPhone 4s but now on the 5s with iOS 7.1.1 it does not seem to work?



whenever i try to login, it says i am locked out, i even had bmw assist reset my password for the app but didn't help



also, there seems to be two versions of the app on the iPhone, one "bmw remote" and another "bmw remote us"... i tried both and neither work for me, which one should canadian cars use?

Building Transmission

Hey guys, So I was wondering if anyone built the 6AT from a 335xi. I have a 2012 335xi auto which I am planning on building but Im just trying to cover all the basis before I fully dive into building it. I have tried to do some research and I found that people build the 6AT on the 335i not sure if we have the same trans? anyways I was wondering if anyone has any experience with building the transmission or running alot of power through them.

As one who tried to add either the luxury or modern line whiskers to my no line 2014 328i, only to discover that the bumper tapers differently on the no-line and that the BMW OEM whiskers won't fit, I asked one of the Taiwan aftermarket makers if they could make these in chrome coated plastic, either hard or malleable. He response was that he needs people to express an interest.

Special Order Question: Color

While I was talking to a BMW rep at an Un4Getable event last week, he mentioned that I could order a 435i convertible in Le Mans Blue, a color not on the BMW configurator. My dealer said this couldn't be done.



Can anyone add any clarity here? I have a 2012 335is coming off lease in April, 2015, and I'd love to order a new 2015 435i in Le Mans Blue, if I could.

Changed Spark Plugs. Took pics. Advice?

Changed out the spark plugs. They had about 30k miles on them and when I took them out and compared them to the brand new plugs I could see noticeable wear.



Posting pictures because I found some oil on some of the plugs. 2 and 6 are my main concern.



I have a CPO warranty that isn't running out anytime soon but should I even bother going to the dealer and what do I tell them?



"Hey, changed my plugs and noticed some oil on some of them." Or will they throw a hissy fit about doing maintenance myself?



Plug 1 was pristinely clean where as 2 had some oil pooling in it. I have a comparison of both plugs so you'll see what I mean.

Car has 64k on the clock!

FK automotive deals...

Just a heads up to anyone looking for lowering springs, coilovers and other related parts.

I've just bought a set on FK lowering springs and shortened drop links from FK Automotive direct from Germany and saved a few quid going direct to them..



I paid £60 instead of £110 for a set of 60/40mm springs, the drops links were 9 euros so about £7..



The highsport coilovers are I think about £340 instead of about £450 over here!



I bought some highsport coilovers for my Golf Edition30 from venom Motorsport and all they do is order from FK direct anyway, so cut out the middleman and save a fair few quid!

I've looked up a lot on forum regarding the brake pad information regarding ST BBK, but wasn't able to gather all the information that i would like to know. I am installing my ST 60/40 in a week, and would like to know the following information regarding each brake pads that i listed. Thank you

1. Wear (how many track days on it)

2. Fade resistance (especially after using pads more than 50%)

3. Stopping power

"Hood open, stop carefully" when driving

So yesterday I was just driving around in a bit spirited manner around noon, and suddenly the warning "ding" sounds came up with this message in red: "Hood open, stop carefully".



I took an exit, stopped the car and checked, the hood was closed. Anyway I popped it open, closed it and restarted the car. The error was gone.



Software issue?



I remember sometime back the car car gave a "drivetrain malfunction" error and the dealer had to upgrade the software. This happened around noon too.



So do these errors just happen when the temperature is high? Just a guess..



Thought I'd share this since it's a weird thing to happen, did anyone else get this error?

Full OEM Rear Brakes--Pads, Calipers, Rotors

Full 14,600 mile OEM rear set of calipers, pads, rotors. I acquired the full M3 drivetrain including the rear OEM brakes for a hot rod I'm building (http://ift.tt/RJSY1V) out of a 14,600 mile 2008 e90 M3. Scored a new pair of massive Brembo ZR1 monoblock calipers for the hot rod and mating with new Brembo 380X34 rings w/ their M3 hats/bells so these are available. Just seemed more appropriate (and way cheaper) to build my own BBK for this project so these are available. $500 plus shipping.



The brakes are still mounted to the rear but will be removed this weekend, shown as acquired and as currently mounted for mock-up.

chrome to black trim

Hi all,



I'm due to pick up my new f10 520d M Sport next week.



Its pretty much matched everything I need, apart from chrome trim around windows. I've seen a diy video etc, but unsure where I can get the special matt/vinyl wrap from iwithn the UK. Found the US website shadowlinetrim, but wanted something UK based?



Would anyone be able to guide me too some tools?

Anyone have 6000k HID headlight upgrade? Factory Xenon?

I am trying to figure out if 6000k D1S are my best bet to upgrade for the headlight bulb, as i have very bluish color angel eyes (6-8k i believe) and 6k hid fog lights in my m3 style fogs. Anyone have pics of at least upgraded headlight bulbs and angel eyes? Want it all to be the same, right now headlights look more white with no blue to them and aren't matching angel eyes and pissing me off!!

Has anyone done a DAB retrofit?

Looking for advice as I'm planning to pick up a used F25 in the next few months.



The UK AUC stock shows DAB fitted cars and it's something I'm looking for. There are a few cars which would be suitable but not all of them have DAB so my question is how hard is it to retrofit?



Similarly, I'd like enhanced BT but would accept the basic package - is it just audio streaming which is the main difference?

Wheel/Tire Fitment for 2010 328i Coupe?

Hi all -



My '10 328i coupe currently has a square setup, style 157's, 8x17 ET34 with stock Conti runflats 225-45-17. It has S704A M Sport suspension according to the VIN check, if it matters.



I'm looking to go with a staggered, go-flat setup. The wheels are M5 style 343 reps, 8x18 ET35 front, 9x18 ET38 rears. I'm hoping to clad them with UHP all-seasons, 235-40-18 on the front, 255-35-18 on the rear. Looking for a quieter and more comfortable ride with a bit more swagger.



Will this package fit on my vehicle without fender or suspension rubbing? Anyone else have the same or close?
