E92 with replaced dct transmission under warranty worth buying?

mardi 30 septembre 2014

Hi all, I'm in the market for an used e92. I checked one locally with no accident before and still under warranty. But the transmission was replaced under warranty. How does it affect the value of the car? It's a dct transmission.

Thanks in advance.

Road Trip Plasti-Dip

I am about to embark on an extended roadtrip in my E90 and am planning on Plasti-Diping my front end black. To include mirrors, front bumper, front portion of the hood, and possibly rims.

Does anyone have any additional suggestions for protecting my vehicle for a long drive?

First Post, go easy on me.

Ebt and iPhone 5s problem with iOS 8.0.2

I have upgraded my phone with new iOS and unfortunately iPhone doesn't work via Bluetooth. It is connected, you can play music but it is not working as a phone. It shows phonebook, it shows entries, I can select it but once I try to call I have a msg - phone currently unavailable. Unpaired and paired again - no success. Once someone calls me display shows my number calling me but there is no reaction once pressing buttons. Once I managed to call I had got disconnected after a short while. Any thought what to do?

Snowboard rack

So I discovered that my BWM roof rack system from my E90 M3 will fit the F80. I just need to adjust the width a little....easy to do. Now the question I have is what are you guys using to actually hold the boards?

Previously I had the BMW board carrier but you can only carry 2 boards. I need room for 4.

Will a thule or other easily mount to bmw cross rail without those ugly clam shell brackets? I.e. Can you use some sort of t-nut to bolt it directly to the cross rail channel? How much depth do you have for bindings?

Pictures!

Thanks

interior led bulbs - FRM

Hi Guys,

I've recently upgraded the interior bulbs to LED ones. When scanning on DIS it shows errors to front and back interior bulbs, I guess due to the low voltage.

I've been reading that on 300 startup's that if a fault is still present that it will shut down the FRM and it will need to be reset again.

is this true with interior bulbs and should I just return them back to standard.

Thanks

F32 435i with Suspension setup options

hi all

This is my first topic on this forum :)

So i have a 435i msport with adaptive suspension. I am looking to lower a bit the car as the gap from the wheel to the arch is too much !! Nearly 3 fingers goes in there with factory setup !

Important things i need :

1. Car aesthesics to be better , i am on 19" type 442 wheels

2. I dont want to loose the comfort of my car

3. I will not be going to the track

The other issue is the road surfaces in malta are not so good , i also bought ACS springs, i loved the handling but it seems i lost also some comfort and went back to stock setup , now i am seeing the car so ugly raised up again. Is it the RFT Tyres maybe that caused me some bumping with the ACS? Some mechanic told me that just changing the springs will only stiffen your ride.

So i was thinking of maybe going the coilover route. KW ddc kit looks really good but again i dont know if i will loose comfort of the car

Anyone using KW ddc or any other coilovers ?

Any input would be highly appriciated

Thanks :)

New dates! Our Second Annual Drive-A-Thon, a fundraiser for Camp Goodtimes (summer camp for kids with cancer), is now on Friday October 10th and Saturday October 11th. Join us for the last two days of the track season!

Registration: Register at http://ift.tt/1sr5b9K just like you do for all Turn 2 events. Then visit http://ift.tt/1BtK2y5 and make a $295 donation (pay your track fee) and you'll automatically receive an emailed receipt that you can submit with your tax returns.

Silent Auction/Mobile Bidding: New this year! Our silent auction is managed through mobile bidding. Bid for items directly from your cell phone or tablet (internet access required). You do not need to be present to win. Any one can bid from any where in the U.S. Register here http://ift.tt/10bWerV for the silent auction.

Cantrell Motorsports has just donated well over $1,000 worth of tools plus a corner balance and alignment for our auction. Colin and his crew are some of the best high performance techs on the west coast, and the cost for this service is normally $600.

Cantrell will also support drivers at the track on both days. They are bringing their big rig (motorized shop) out to The Ridge. We are grateful for their support, and look forward to having them participate.

The George Town Brewery has also just donated a tour and pizza party for 12 people to be auctioned off. Group 2 has just come through with 9 hours of labor. We've got Sea Hawk, Mariner and Sounder tickets and jerseys, a one day Lamborghini rental, wine, tools and much more.

We've come up with some sweet swag bags for drivers that attend both days. The first 40 drivers that sign up for both days will receive a swag bag that includes a Bimmerworld or Group 2 t-shirt, a gift certificate to 425 Motorsports or Metropolitan Detail, a Titan tape measure, a Cantrell water bottle and more.

If you can't attend the event but still want to help, you can make a donation or bid on one of the many auction items, including Sea Hawk tickets and jerseys, Mariner and Sounder tickets, condo rentals in Maui, Mazatlan and Whistler, music, wine, tools and much more. Sign up for the silent auction here.

Come on out to exercise your car, have some fun and make a difference!

Those who have broken the Intake Manifold vacuum connector

I'm ordering a brass threaded vacuum nipple to replace my glued plastic one that broke during the CP install. Would the one linked below work in 1/8 x 1/8NPT

http://ift.tt/YCWezu

I'm having walnut blasting performed on the car, so I intend on having this replaced at the same time since i'll have the manifold off the car. Just want to be prepared with correct materials. Thanks in advance! If you've done this repair, please list the exact fitting you used if you remember, thanks again.

The BMW's of H2OI 2014

Another great year at H20I in Ocean City this weekend. Tons of excellent cars, VAG, Euros and a lot of everything else too. Enjoy.

Do your M Performance side blades fit perfectly?

The CF side blades fitted to my car do not appear to have been slipped on correctly as there is a small gap on the trailing edge nearest the lower grill on both sides. In other words you can see the body colour where you would think they would completely cover those lower sections.. In fact, one side has a larger gap than the other..

I'll get a picture tomorrow if I've not explained too well but was wondering if anyone else has the same issue?

M4 First Extended Drive; Two Irritations

Well, I've had my car for 10 days and finally got around to taking it on the road yesterday for a 300 mile drive from Los Angeles to San Diego, and back. I didn't want to take it out until I got my Xpel Ultimate front coverage and my windows tinted so it was just taking up space as the reigning garage queen. Now, however she is well on her way to the 1200 mile service and establishing a bond with me.

First of all, this is a very comfortable car on the highway. The fit of the seats, the ergonomics, the features and general comfort, and its overall responsiveness and performance make this car a genuine please to drive.

Except for just two things, so far.

The small irritation first: That bright white and yellow ugly warning label on the sun visors greatly detracts from the attractiveness of the interior, especially considering that the headliner is black and contrasts so much. At times, until I got somewhat used to them my eyes would inadvertently go the visor label on my side as though it was lit up. As they are painted on, I'm considering covering them either with BBQ flat black paint, or a flat black sticker. Anyone dealt with this issue?

The second irritation, but much more significant, is the egregious dead spot I feel in the steering wheel when going straight, and the lack of steering feel at all other times. Moreover, initiating any movement of the wheel is met with a heaviness and artificiality, something akin to static friction, whereas the old systems are completely smooth and natural even with the smallest correction. Compared to the 2008 135i I had for four years, and the 2001 525iat my wife had for 12 years, both of which I would rate "A" for steering, this car gets a barely passing grade of "C" in the steering category. Because all-electric steering cannot yet provide the connected feel of a direct hydraulic electric-assisted system, I think that the M division should have stuck with hydraulics until development was much, much further along. Any chance that there will be a retrofit hydraulic-electric steering kit available?
