Car repair business advertising...were to start?

dimanche 1 février 2015

Hello,

So recently have been getting serious about starting my own shop. I work full time right at a local dealer and only do side work on the weekends out of my garage. Have a lift, dealer diag equipment etc. This is all good and dandy but I want to take it to the next level and do it full time. Id rather do the foot work of everything first before I take the leap and quite my 8-5 job completely. Advertising is were I have no clue on.

I started a FB page which can be seen here: http://ift.tt/1tSh0dv

I just post what work I have done over the past weekend or such. Now i know there is FB advertising but i don't know if it is worth it to do or how to even set it up. (i know the button to press on FB) haha. I will probably read up on this from google or such.

I have contacted some normal forums I go to about advertising, a couple I will do as they are $150-$300 for a year or 6 months. But some like e90 post and others are $200 a month which to me is a lot for right now. They said the don't offer anything less than that.

This is pretty much all I have done. I don't have a website yet but am in the works with someone to make one. Again expensive ($1.5k) for the layout. I know that might not be a lot as I don't know how much website making goes for. Also assume I should get on yelp somehow or other review sites so people can see them.

I have probably 50 or so customers so far just by word of mouth over the last 2 years since i started. I do have enough work for most all weekends but if i were to go quite tomorrow I wouldn't have enough work to go all week. What I want to do is build up clients now before I take the leap in.

What I really want to know is were should I start with this and whats worth paying for. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Some ideas:

- license plate frames

- stickers

- business cards
