Rebellion Racing Chose AER engines for this season (Advanced Engine Research)

he Swiss team’s two Rebellion R-One non-hybrid LMP1 cars will be powered by AER P60 V6 GDI twin-turbo engines, switching from the naturally aspirated Toyota RV8K-LM 3.4 litre V8 engines used to date. Rebellion has registered for two entries in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This one has gotten a TON or press, the FWD Nissan GT-R LM NISMO LMP1

The have built a front-engined, front-wheel-drive racer powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 working in conjunction with an electric drive system to develop more than 1,250 horsepower! To ensure it gets the power down, the car features bigger tires up front: 14-inch wide front versus 9-inch rear. And with the engine up front, it means the cabin sits further back compared to the other LMP1s.

Like many teams that use Dunlop tyres, Team SARD-Morand was at the Motorland Aragón circuit last week to test them out. The session was all the more important for SARD-Morand because, with two cars in the FIA World Endurance Championship, they have hired new engineers, mechanics and drivers, all of whom need time to learn to work together.

After two seasons in LM P2 in the European Le Mans Series, Morand Racing, which became NewBlood by Morand Racing early in 2014 is stepping up a notch this year, with two Morgans, named Morgan EVO SARD, in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Morand Racing, managed by Benoît Morand, has experience in LM P2 having finished in fifth place in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2013 (following the relegation of G-Drive Racing) and sixth in 2014.

All eyes are now turned to the prologue, the official practice sessions for the FIA World Endurance Championship at the Paul Ricard track in Le Castellet on 27 and 28 March.
