Stumbled with this one today so decided to post...Not sure if it has been posted before, didn't search...
BMW M5 E39 - Creation of Legend:
Charlie Chaplin style until around minute 18, ie, almost total silence. Then some loaded engine testing with sound. Later some chassis testing and drive on the Nordschleife. Somewhat painful to see how these cars were setup to understeer from the factory, although safer for most drivers.
Interesting to see how BMW tested everything back then and how they did it to uncover potential problems... Since nowadays technology allows more intense data logging, I guess/hope they do more intense testing today.
