For whatever else one may think about the Roman Catholic and Eastern Rite Catholic churches "put on the dog" better than all the other Christian churches, except perhaps the Episcopalians. If nothing else, it makes the Pope's visit interesting.
Having been around the Roman Catholic church for years, I thought it interesting when they started dragging out certain prayers, garb and practices that don't generally make it into, say, your regular Sunday Mass.
