I became the happier owner of a 335d M Sport Touring..

Thought i would post my comments, both positive and negative a year into ownership. It seems like only yesterday i was waking up like a kid on Christmas morning, hurrying excitedly to the dealer to pick her up.
The positives..
I have been having a serious amount of fun over the last year - the novelty has not worn off and i steel feel enormous joy each time i drive it, or even just walk past it on the drive.
The engine/auto box combo are just an absolute peach. The violence with which the thing gets going from a standing start when stamping on the throttle is frightening, but lovely smooth, effortless in gear acceleration and overtaking almost anything is just a doddle - a real split personality in that sense and one of the highlights of all this is the amazing un-diesel/more v6 like burbling sound under acceleration. Piped or not, it's very addictive.
Spec wise, I wouldn't change anything given a 2nd chance. Pro Nav i find is excellent, has got me out of potential traffic bother on numerous occasions and the whole Pro Media pack i find a joy, so much more than just nav. I would also vouch for the HK sound, which to me sounds at it's best when the radio is on (?). The highlight though has to be the adaptive headlights, i was nervous about using them at first for fear of blinding others but confidence has grown massively. They are extraordinarily fast to react and clever.
Two slightly more controversial subjects; x-drive and adaptive suspension. For me, i would have the same again on both counts, even given the choice of an s-drive 335d, but that's just me. Aesthetically, x-drive really isn't an issue (see pictures in the link above) and whilst i understand the arguments about weight/handling in theory, in practice i just haven't noticed any compromises here at all (and i have been letting rip on the back roads quite a lot), only the positives of the extra traction in all manner of situations.
Heated seats were a late addition and thank god for that, as in the winter months those leather seats get properly chilly even with a sweater on.
Economy wise i have averaged 37mpg which for me is quite amazing given how much I have been ripping it but i don't do very much in town driving.
The negatives..
i) The number of times i get in the car to find the luggage cover still up, blocking the rear screen and ii) the way the isofix points allow the child seat base to move such that it beeps when driving in a remotely enthusiastic way and iii) the auto windscreen wipers seem to like loads of rain so that i can barely see, before they get going.
And that really is it in terms of anything negative i have to say.
In summary it's a flawless all rounder, it just does everything so well and has been a pleasure to own so far.
Gave it a nice 3 hour wash today for it's birthday - can't wait to get back on the road now.
