boost pressure converter

I just got a quick question. If you remove both vacuum lines from the canisters on a n54, should the both be pulling vaccum or just one? Im pulling vacuum from the hose off of the front close pressure convertor but not the back converter at idle. Trying to help narrow out my slow boost and weird wastegate rattle on decel. Sounds like a baseball card in bicycle spokes but metallic. :confused2
