Would like to find out if the Sirius activation is something that can be done by simple coding yourself or it requires an additional unlocking code from BMW?
My car is a basic no-Nav 2012 328i F30 with the Sirius-ready S693A package. My dealer said it costs $500 to activate it. I asked if during the program-update for "auto/start last setting" (that they agreed to do) since they are already dong the update process can they could just flip the software switch for the Sirius option to ON? He said it's not that simple because they would need to request first an activation authorization from BMW in order to "flip the switch".
This is what I have:
S693A Preparation BMW satellite radio
S697A S6NHA
S645A BMW US Radio BMW US Radio
