Fellow posters, is this normal.....
My car was registered in May '13, has done 10,700 miles, and indicating 1st service is due in 10,000 miles or 01/2015. The last bit threw me, because I know the first oil service is either as per the indicated mileage, or 2 years (whichever comes first), so I ran through the vehicle status menu in iDrive, and noticed it was the brake pads which were forcing the "early" service. However, it's only the rears influencing it (8000 miles to replacement, whereas the fronts are indicating 26,000 to replacement). Surely, the wear wouldn't be that uneven, would it?
I recall posts previously indicating S/W issues with brake pad wear indication, but had work done to the car under warranty a few months back, and had a quality enhancement carried out, so thinking they would have checked the S/W version at the same time?
My previous car was an X3 (E83), and obviously heavier than my F30 (so tougher on the brakes), and didn't need to change my brake pads until about 44k miles, hence my surprise.
Thoughts anyone? (Thanks in advance)
