Finally, I have joined the dark side.

lundi 17 mars 2014

After owning and modding my Miata for 4 years, I thought it was finally time to upgrade. My 250whp Miata is great fun with the serious money I've put into it, but it isn't practical or luxurious. I picked up a 328is for a daily, but it just wasn't making the cut.

It's hard to tell, but I swapped the motor/trans/LSD in my Miata. Not to mention swapping in a Megasquirt 3x standalone ECU, Stance GR+ coils, Bride seats, etc... could go on for days. You guys don't care.

Anyways... I've had my eyes on the 1-series for years. Last Thursday I was finally able to pull the trigger on a 6-speed BSM 135i. It has everything I wanted.

  • M-Sport package

  • Cold weather package

  • iDrive/Navigation

  • Comfort Access

  • HiFi Professional/Logic7

  • Rear Parking Sensors

Mods:

  • Eibach Pro-Kit springs

  • BMW Performance short shift kit

  • Riss Racing oil catch can

  • Custom exhaust

  • Carbon wrapped interior

  • 35% tint all around

  • On brand new Blizzaks

  • Included new set of summer tires

Picked it up with 81,000 miles. He said it has some sort of JB chip on it, wired into the MAP sensor? I'm unfamiliar with that. Always BMW maintained, water pump just done, HPFP already replaced, new plugs. I don't hear any wastegate rattle and everything else checks out.

After driving it home for 400 miles, I love it! Perfect mix between the Miata and my E36. Although it isn't as fast as my Miata, the torque is nice. Soon I'll put an LSD in.

I'm hoping I didn't overpay for the car, what do people on here think it's worth?

She was pretty dirty after the long drive:

I'll get a build thread up as soon as the first round of mods come in...
