2006 325i (E90) 80K Miles
The car was in an frontal collision and had to replace radiator (aftermarket), thermostat (OEM) along with many other things.
Ever since, SES light comes on and the code says it's Thermostat malfunction. BMW dealer even replaced it again on parts warranty, but the code came back after being driven 50 miles. (thermostat is working fine and checked wiring and found no problems.)
Now they are saying, "its possible that the aftermarket radiator is causing incorrect temperature threshold readings to the thermostat. Before recommending a BMW radiator, we will reprogram the software to change the temperature tolerances in an attempt to clear the codes."
Is there a chance that all this is due to the car aging (or other misc things triggering SES) and not accident related?
