Nice 2nd place finish for the #24 car, but everyone got shafted by the horrible weather. Especially the #25 car with Auberlen at the wheel. They went in for a pit and got caught by the caution that ended ultimately the race. It was positively tragic. BMW were 2nd and 3rd when the #25 pitted just before the final caution. Had the race run to completion, maybe Bill had a shot. Really sucks, but that's racing.
The #911 car was just crazy fast in the wet. Unbeatable, really. To be honest, their run-away performance had me scratching my head a bit. There were occasions where they were laying down faster laps than the DP cars lap after lap. I understand that the GT cars have more mechanical grip, but the #911 car was putting down laps 2-4s faster than anyone else in the field. It just seemed a little out of whack, but whatever. I wouldn't go so far as to accuse them of anything, and I hate to be a sore loser.
That closes out the season with Porsche taking the manufacturer and team trophy in GTLM. Congrats to them, and congrats to Tandy for making history, winning both Le Mans and Petit Le Mans.
