Hello everyone i ran into a little confusion yesterday when i spoke with a fellow forum member about our engines and exhaust; so we met up and spoke about it. So here are the spec's real quickly his car is a 2011 E92 with 20k miles DCT, i have a 2013 E92 with only 13K miles 6 speed. When we both started our cars one car started warm (2011 E92) and the other started cold (2013 E92). After the warm up cycle was finished i backed into the street to see both cars. After we took a drive in my car to hear my ACM exhaust and after that test, we parked both cars and started the 2011 up.
2011 E92 has no tiick tiick tiick tiick tiick tiick sound.
My car has the tiick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick sound but it isn't the same sound as i hear in the rod bearing videos of where when you rev upwards to 1.8 or 2.2 you'll hear it more and my car doesn't do this. Plus i heard on cars that start fairly cold that tick sound is the engine Valves is that correct or should i just bring it to my dealer once again. OHH and after todays drive no tick tick tick sound it's been really strange.
it's not a LOUD tick tick tick sound, it's something you'll have to hear for when the hood is open and near the engine cover.
I hope it isn't rod bearing because i really babied this car from day 1.
