Why perhaps you should not mod the engine

Or 500$ to the toilet.

Last fall I had a CEL. The code was 2C2E (Lambda probe heating behind catalytic converter, input signal).

So I bought another O2 sensor for my 2007 N52.

It is ill-positioned and requires a BMW special tool. I ordered 2 after market tools and neither one did the job.

After 8 months, I took the car to the dealer.

They accepted to use my O2 sensor but warned me that it could come back. They explained that the voltage after this O2 should come down to 1V before the DME and that it is higher than that. But the car was nonetheless declared "fixed" by the dealer and it ran about an hour without CEL.

Then it came back with a vengeance. 2C2E again.

I have a Power PBX (5 years) and the tech suggested that it may be related. Unproven but this mod is a concern now (even if may NOT be related but who knows? :confused2)

What would you do. Ditch the car? :)
